Originally from Dayton, Ohio, Calista Miller moved to Nashville in 2018 to attend Belmont University where she earned a BBA in the Music Business. After interning for Curb | Word Entertainment her senior year, Calista was officially brought on as Creative Coordinator of Country Publishing upon graduating. Her primary responsibilities consist of coordinating and facilitating strategic writing sessions for the country songwriter roster, managing social media strategy for the department, and assisting in pitching/placing writer catalog, in addition to catalog administration duties.

In 2016, Curb Records acquired Word Entertainment, combining two of the music industry’s most respected global brands, and more than a century of collective publishing experience. Owned and operated by Mike Curb, the combined publishing entities represent many of today’s top contemporary and iconic hits in Country, Christian, Pop, Rock, and Hip-Hop, including the only country song in history to debut at #1, Garth Brooks’ “More Than A Memory.” Additional legendary songs in the catalog include “Kiss Me,” “You Light Up My Life,” “Mary, Did You Know,” “Hard To Love,” “One More Day,” “Rumor,” “Three Wooden Crosses,” “Watching You,” “Suds In The Bucket,” “Love Can Build A Bridge,” “My Girl,” “I Don’t Dance,” “El Shaddai”and “Love Like Crazy,” among many others.

You must be an NSAI Member to fully participate in pitch / feedback workshops.

Bring an MP3 version of your song that you can easily play from your phone, along with two lyric sheets for the song you chose. (Cassette tapes will not be accepted.)

*Members are more than welcome to attend and simply observe the event even if they do not want to submit a song for pitch!

We will play the first verse and first chorus of each song and the guest will "pass" or "take a copy".

Up to 50 members can participate and will be played in order of arrival - Members traveling greater than 75 miles or 2 hours from Davidson County will be given priority to participate.*

If you arrive earlier than 5:15pm, please join the line on our covered porch on the Roy Acuff side of building. Once doors open you will sign in and submit your lyrics sheets of the song you chose, to the receptionist for the event.

Members traveling greater than 75 miles or 2 hours from Davidson County are considered "out-of-town". You must be in the Priority Line prior to the time that doors open at 5:15pm. If you arrive after 5:15pm, you will be asked to join the end of the "Nashville/Local Line". At that point, there is no guarantee that you will be able to participate.
