Below you can read about what our members have been up to. You can also read what members have to say about membership, NSAI events, song contest and more.
The first thing I did when I first began to explore songwriting as a career was to sign up for NSAI's Song Camp. The instructors at Song Camp showed me what it takes to survive in the music business and challenged me to write at a competitive level. I left that even with the tools to begin that journey and they have served me well. I've celebrated a #1 song, two top-forty songs and 35 major label cuts since I "graduated" from song camp!

Reno Holler won the Central Oregon Songwriters Association Songwriter of the Year Award. It was for the song “Still in Love with Me." “One,” the song that he performed live, at the show won the "audience choice award".
Elizabeth Papalia and Jason Delkou's music and artistry was presented to our Pitch to Publisher meeting last October. Elizabeth and Jason are an incredible songwriting team with a HUGE challenge. They are trying for country music success all the way from AUSTRALIA! They truly feel a million miles away from the Nashville Music scene.
After our pitch to publisher luncheon, publisher Lynn Gann of Full Circle Music, meet with Jason and Elizabeth about their musical goals. This meeting resulted in a "Pro Co Write" with Full Circle Music staff writer Joshua Stevens (yes you may have seen Joshua on Nashville Star!)
The results of that co write is a song titled, "I Want You To" written by Elizabeth Papalia, Jason Delkou and Joshua Stevens . The song "I Want You To" made it's way into the hands of Nashville Star finalist, Meg Allison!!
Meg who has also made a name for herself in the college circuit will be including this song on her upcoming fall album. Congratulations and we trust this is just the beginning of an amazing songwriting career.
Elizabeth and Jason are back in Australia again but their songs are still floating around Nashville and here at NSAI we are keeping them on the minds of Nashville publishers.
ON FEBRUARY 4th 2007, Just a few days prior to returning to her home in Nashville, Lorna Flowers and John McCane collected the prestigious Best Song Award at the 2006 UK Country Radio Awards in front of a sell out crowd of 2,000 fans at Lakeside Country Club.
“Touch Me with Your Tenderness” was co-written by Lorna and John and was nominated by UK radio DJs from John’s CD “Straight From The Heart”. It is all the more amazing as a Best Song winner because it was never released as a single!
I met Steven Lee in 2005 and began an association with him in order to advance his career. At that time, we both joined NSAI and submitted the first song we co wrote together to the NSAI contest for that year. To our great surprise, we received an honourable mention in the contest and were the top ranked entry from Canada for "Drivin in love". The same day we received this great news, Steven Lee was also invited to the Canadian country music associations annual new artist showcase in Saint John, New Brunswick. As a result of his successful showcase appearance, Steven Lee was signed to Roots Three publishing in Nashville, a division of successful Canadian RGK Entertainment group (Doc Walker, Roadhammers, Corb Lund, Prairie Oyster). Steven Lee is now in Nashville working on his CD release and is performing his first show in Nashville at Fuel nightclub on February 20th with Doc Walker and Willie Mack.
I wanted to acknowledge the help that NSAI rendered in his current ascent and to thank you as well. NSAI staff have always been exceptionally courteous and friendly whenever I have contacted them with any questions.
Thanks so much for all your help.
