Barry Dean

A Kansas native, Barry has served as a faculty member for NSAI’s Song Camps.  He also assists in the NSAI Song Contest and has served on the Legislative and Adopt-a-Shop committees.  Interestingly enough, Barry didn’t begin his songwriting career until age 33.  He spent the next several years traveling between Kansas and Nashville every month until signing with BMG.  Within six months he had his first two cuts: Martina McBride’s “God’s Will” and Reba McEntire’s “Moving Oleta.” His song “The Seduction Of Mrs. Nielsen” was used on TV’s Dawson’s Creek.
