No December Meeting

NSAI-Fort Worth will NOT have a meeting in December; our next meeting will be Monday, January 13, 2020, 7 - 9 PM at Dickey's BBQ, 5530 S. Cooper St. in Arlington.  Y'all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

 

No October Meeting

Due to schedule conflicts, our chapter meeting for October has been cancelled. We will meet again on Monday, November 11, 2019 at Dickey's.

However, the Dallas Chapter meeting should be of great interest to everyone, and I encourage you to attend!

Dallas NSAI will host two Austin music officials at its next meeting on October 28.  Brendon Anthony, Director of the Texas Music Office, and Mitch Ballard, Senior Director, Austin with BMI, will discuss their roles and how they can help songwriters.  The meeting takes place at 7pm on the 28th at Opening Bell Coffee, 1409 S. Lamar Dallas.

Randy Brooks ("Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer") at NSAI - Fort Worth Chapter

NSAI-Fort Worth, TX chapter was excited to have Randy Brooks as our guest speaker for November; Randy is the writer of "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer", and shared the rather convoluted story of how "Grandma" came to be a Christmas staple.  Here is a photo of him performing; he also shared two other songs, "Percy the Puny Poinsettia", and "Happy Halloween (A Christmas Song".

Fort Worth ole Chapter Challenge

Congratulations to Kayley Walker, as winner of our ole Chapter Challenge, with her song, "Autumn". Kayley was awarded an NSAI Tote Bag and "Hoodie" as our chapter winner!  Of course, we had to chase her to Nashville, in order to present her with her prizes!

Also, congratulations to Kipp Brennan and Bob Sammons, who tied as runners-up for the Challenge, with their songs, "Great Night for a Beer" and "God Knows Where You Are", respectively.
