Tune in for insight with industry pro Ralph Torrefranca on the key differences in the LA and Nashville music scenes: songwriting culture, approach to splits, and emphasis on production. Ralph started his career in music young. From a DJ at KJEE in Santa Barbara, he moved into publicity and touring with artists such as Ben Gibbard, Local Natives and Jackson Browne. Then Ralph found his passion working directly with the artists – helping to launch and grow their careers while sharing a mutual love of songwriting and music as a part of the teams at Red Light Management + Grandstand Media. While focusing on A&R/Management + Artist Consulting, Ralph has spent the past 15 years servicing each artist + writer with the utmost attention to the longevity of their careers. As an active songwriter himself, he has refined a unique process in developing a roster of talented writers at Angry Mob Music. Ralph is currently Director of A&R and oversees the development of the songwriters, producers and artists for the publishing division of Angry Mob Music in Los Angeles. Current signings include writer Jake Scott (Aloe Blacc, Jason Mraz), love-sadKid (Hobo Johnson), MIKNNA (Free Natonals, Anderson Paak), rapper/artist KAMI (Chance The Rapper, Joey Purp), producer Bus (Ty Dolla $ign feat. Kendrick Lamar), Ben Browning (of Cut Copy), dePresno (Sony/Columbia), Joey Verskotzi, BTWN, Schmarx + Savvy (3LAU, SIIKDOPE), Luke Wade (The Voice), Rune Westberg, Sleeplust and Body Language (OM Records).
In addition to A&R, Ralph is also the singer/guitarist for the band Cuffed Up (KCRW, KEXP, SXSW).
