This past week, we hosted our first Pop-Up event at the Trimble House in the WeHo neighborhood of Nashville! Kara DioGuardi and Jeff Cohen shared song and performance feedback to 20 out of 40 NSAI Member attendees at the Nashville Pop-Up Campfire Session! ORRIN G. HATCH MUSIC MODERNIZATION ACT UNANIMOUSLY PASSES UNITED STATES SENATE
 
NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE (September 18, 2018) – The Orrin G. Hatch Music Modernization Act (MMA), legislation designed to improve streaming royalty rates for American songwriters, cleared one of the final hurdles today with adoption by the United States Senate.  It now awaits only a final vote by the U.S. House of Representatives within the next few days where it is expected to pass and be sent to President Donald Trump for his signature.

Nashville, Tennessee (September 20, 2018) – A packed house at the RYMAN on Wednesday September 19th celebrated the inaugural Nashville Songwriter Awards, presented by the Nashville Songwriters Association International and City National Bank. The top honor of the night, ‘Song of the Year’ was awarded to Matt Dragstrem, Ben Hayslip, and Josh Thompson for “I’ll Name The Dogs,” recorded by Blake Shelton. Ashley Gorley was recognized as ‘Songwriter of the Year’ for the 4th time, and Brandon Lancaster received the award for ‘Songwriter-Artist of the Year.’
