Hometown? I was born in Seattle, WA, but raised in the outskirts of Chicago in a town called Hinsdale, IL.
What made you fall in love with music? I’ve been singing since before I could talk – so really I think I was born this way! It’s in my blood – my grandpa used to sing opera. I started with singing, got into a professional touring choir, started playing piano, then flute, then guitar. There’s not a minute that goes by that a song isn’t in my head.
Best concert you have ever been to? Lotus is definitely my favorite live band. Any time I get to see them is a treat. I also adore John Mayer in concert.
What genre of music do you listen to the most? Country. 100%.
Who’s your favorite artist/band? I have my favorites in every genre (To name a few - Kacey Musgraves, Microwave, The Band Camino, Polyphia, Lennon Stella, Jack Harlow, STS9).
What drew you to NSAI? I love that the main mission of NSAI is advocating for songwriters. We have done so much groundbreaking work in legislation over the years to give songwriters recognition and the compensation that is deserved. While I prefer to work on the business side (over performing) of music, it’s essential to me to be a part of songwriters’ and artists’ dreams and successes. NSAI affords all songwriters alike to have opportunities in networking, education, song reviews, contests, awards, and more.
Favorite Nashville restaurant? Butcher and Bee!
