Louisiana, turned Nashville native, Lisa Boullt has just embarked on her 22nd year in the Music Business. She moved to Nashville in 1991 from Monroe, Louisiana. She didn’t move to TN for the music business but when she transferred to MTSU in 1994, her previous credits fell under the RIM (Recording Industry) program so at that point she decided to pursue music business, where she finished in 1997. So Lisa likes to say that Music chose her. Interning with David Corlew, she got her taste of management and when she graduated she worked with Rhett Akins, who she still works with today. At that same time she also had the wonderful opportunity to work full time with Charlie Daniels and his organization for 11 years. In 2008 she had the chance to go on the “Live Your Voice” Tour with Tim McGraw. Leaving The CDB was one of the hardest decisions but Charlie left her with the words “Go Out There and Make Me Proud” so she did! The next 9 years she worked in Artist Management, Publishing and artist website development. In Spring of 2017, after the loss of her mother, she decided to take a different approach to her career. She never really saw herself as a 9-5 person so at this point in her life she decided to work on her own. With the support from her significant other, Mike she took the plunge. Her knowledge of the business and the relationships she’s built through the years definitely paid off with being a go-to for a lot of things. Basically she found a niche with working with songwriters. Today she works with some of Nashville’s biggest writers which are also some of her best friends. It’s a perfect combination! The one thing that she treasures are her relationships! Never burn a bridge because you never know when you might have to cross it again. With the advice of Bart Herbison, at the age of 50 Lisa has taken up piano lessons again and is now working on the craft of songwriting. You’re never too old to start something new.
