JEFF SKAGGS (CREATIVE NATION)

Jeff Skaggs is the Creative Director at Creative Nation in Nashville, TN. Throughout his career, Jeff has accumulated more than a decade of experience in the industry. As a graduate of MTSU’s Music Business Program, he began his career at DreamWorks Records in Nashville. When DreamWorks merged with MCA and Mercury under the UMG Nashville umbrella, Jeff found his footing with veteran publisher Whitney Daane at the independent publishing company called Mighty Isis Music.
Over the past nine years, Jeff has flourished in the role of song plugger and been instrumental in Mighty Isis Music’s transition into forming Kobalt Music’s Nashville office. Under the guidance of Jeff and Whitney, Kobalt is now home to some of Nashville’s best, including Lady Antebellum, Kelly Clarkson, Ashley Monroe, Big & Rich, Jessi Alexander and Radney Foster. He has also been instrumental in the development of prominent songwriters such as Shane McAnally and Steve Moakler.
Jeff’s current role is leading the creative side of Creative Nation, a leading publishing company helmed by Luke and Beth Laird. The company’s roster includes Luke Laird, Barry Dean, Natalie Hemby, Native Run and Maggie Chapman. In addition to working in the creative and song plugging aspect of Creative Nation, Jeff also handles day-to-day management responsibilities for artist Steve Moakler.
