Event Description:

Travis Carter, a former touring musician, previously held roles at publishing companies Love Monkey Music and Tom-Leis Music, as well as at Sony Music, where he worked as an A&R Consultant. He begins by focusing on songwriter development, creating environments and opportunities for those who write to do their best work. Next, he nurtures relationships in the industry, making sure he has well-worn paths to the doors of decision makers in Nashville—so that he can quickly deliver those “best songs” to “the right hands” when the moment strikes.
As a musician himself, Carter brings years of firsthand industry experience to his coveted role with Warner/ Chappell Music. After relocating to Nashville in 2004 from his hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Carter eventually landed gigs as a touring drummer. Following three solid years on the road, he transitioned to the business side of music with a position working alongside famed A&R executive Renee Bell at Sony Label Group. His first foray into music publishing was at Moraine Music with Brent and Dianna Maher. He followed that opportunity with a stint at Dan Hodges Music in 2012 then landed at Love Monkey/Tom-Leis. In April 2014, Travis was hired as A&R Manager at Warner/Chappell Music. With his musical roots, touring experience, industry connections and passion for great songwriting, Carter has gladly accepted. In this position, Carter provided A&R resources and creative support across the publisher’s roster and catalog, and assist in the discovery of new talent and development of existing songwriters.Since then, he has been promoted and currently holds the role of VP, A&R at Warner/Chappell
