- NSAI Song Contest
The Pittsburgh, PA chapter welcomes songwriters of all ages and experience levels. Members of our chapter write in a variety of styles from folk and Americana to modern country and pop rock. We start each meeting with a lesson on the craft of songwriting or a music business-related subject. Then we share work tapes and demos for feedback, focusing on each songwriter's goal. Most of the time we listen to full songs! Works in progress are encouraged because we love to see how songs develop over time.
Meetings are held every second Sunday of the month from 6:30-9pm eastern, virtually via Zoom. Quarterly, we gather in person at Steamworks Creative for special events.
Congratulations to Rachel Whitcomb for winning Round 1 of our 2025 NSAI Chapter Challenge for her song "Live in the Lonely". In Round 2, an NSAI-appointed committee will listen to all submissions from winning Members and Coordinator and vote to select the top 20 songs. Stay tuned for results!
Member Nadine Douds' latest single "Like You Used To" is available now online and everywhere you like to stream music.
Congratulations to the songwriters below who had songs recognized as Ones To Watch!
