Hello from San Francisco! Notes from our 2025 Chapter Challenge

On April 12th, the San Francisco Bay Area NSAI chapter gathered for our annual Chapter Challenge—and this year, we finally brought back those long-overdue in-person vibes. It was a joy to connect face-to-face, welcome a few new members, and continue building our vibrant NorCal songwriting community.

We spent the afternoon listening to heartfelt, creative songs from our peers and casting our votes for this year’s standout. Congratulations to Barry Ettinger, whose song "My Hometown" took the top spot! We’re cheering Barry on as he heads into the next round of national judging.

Thanks to everyone who showed up, shared their work, and helped make the afternoon such a meaningful celebration of songwriting. We can’t wait to do it again.
