Song Feedback

Online Song Feedback is a service provided by NSAI to give members the opportunity to present their original songs to a Pro Writer or Music Industry Professional. Our guest will listen to the first verse/first chorus of each song, and share their initial reaction/first impression of the song, along with any notes or advice to help guide the writer for improvement! This is a great way to pick a professional's brain and learn from their comments. 

Every member begins their membership year with one (1) Online Song Feedback credit. If you use your credit and would like to participate in more sessions, you have the option to purchase additional credits. 

To participate in an Online Song Feedback Session, you will need: 

• to be an active member. 
• to have an available credit in your account ready to use. 
• an audio file (mp3) of your original song and lyric sheet. 

Spots are limited for Online Song Feedback sessions - we take the first 25 Members that register, so be ready to submit your form quickly to be included! 

When registration opens for an Online Song Feedback Session, you will be able to see a countdown of available spots. When we receive the maximum number of submissions, the webform becomes inactive. You will see the message "THIS EVENT IS FULL." 

We offer one online song feedback session per month. 

The instructions to submit your song for an Online Song Feedback Session are as follows: 

1. Log into your NSAI account. You must be logged in to view the submission form once it goes live. 
2. Follow this path to get onto the correct page: Member Services > Online Song Feedback. 
3. Under the section Upcoming Song Feedback Sessions, click on the Online Song Feedback Session of the month. 
4. Pay careful attention to the Registration Date & Time. This will be precisely when the submission form becomes available. 
5. At the listed Registration Date & Time, the Register button will become active. Click on this button to be taken to the submission form. 
6. Complete the form, and upload the requested materials (audio file and lyric sheet). 
7. Once you complete your song submission, you're done! There's nothing else you need to do - let us take it from there!

Here's what happens after registration for Online Song Feedback closes: 

1. The NSAI team compiles all the song submissions into a private playlist for the Guest. 
2. A member of our team and the guest will coordinate a day/time to meet via Zoom and listen through the playlist together* (first verse/first chorus of each song - 25 songs MAX).
3. The NSAI staff member will facilitate the session, while the guest will provide feedback, notes, advice, guidance, etc. 
4. The Zoom session is recorded, and a link to view the video will be distributed to all of the participants at a later date (usually before the end of the month). 

*REMINDER: This event is not a live or attended event. Once you submit a song, you've done your part! You will not receive a link to join the Zoom session - you will have to wait until the video link gets distributed to hear the comments from the Guest. 

Our Online Song Feedback service is valuable in many ways: 

• This is your chance to have your song heard by a professional in the music industry, and gain valuable insight on what they think of your songwriting! They may have some interesting ideas that could take your song to the next level and help you improve and strengthen your skills! What could be better than getting firsthand guidance from a Pro Hitmaker?!
• Maybe you're stuck on a lyric or melody, or maybe you're not sure where to take the song -- getting another opinion on your song could help get the creative juices flowing! 
• This is one of the best ways to check out what your fellow NSAI members are writing! Take the time to watch the entire video and listen to each song, because you might just find a few new cowriters out of the bunch! Take note of the songs that stood out to you, and take the initiative to find those members in the Member Directory, and send direct messages to connect!
