Prepping for Your Member Rep Meeting

By Megan Harris

One great service that NSAI has to offer is the opportunity to meet with a Member Rep! Just like any meeting, you want to be prepared. Here are a few tips that will help you make the most out of your meeting!

  1. Research the Reps! All three of our reps come from different backgrounds with a variety of industry experience. Reading up on their bios on the website will help you narrow down who you see best fit to meet with.
  2. Be on time! If it is virtual or via phone call, be sure you have the right information and are meeting during the correct time zone.
  3. Come with prepared questions and/or songs for feedback. You can send your songs ahead of time so the rep will have time to listen intently & formulate some feedback. Also, coming prepared with questions will make the most out of your meeting time, honing in on your goals.
  4. Take any advice or feedback with a grain of salt. At the end of the day, this is your craft so you are in control. We are just one of your many resources in your membership.
  5. Be YOU! We want to get to know your goals and your personality to help us understand the best methods of assisting you.

To schedule a Member Meeting, email the rep of your choice to coordinate a meeting time. Disclosure: Member Reps are not a Segway to getting you a publishing or record deal.
