ABOUT RUSSELL NYGAARD
Russell Nygaard is a Los Angeles based music publisher, manager, and trumpet player. Russell went to college at California State University, Northridge and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music Industry Studies. In the professional world, Russell has spent the past 6 years clearing and negotiating synchronization uses for the likes of The Black Keys, Hall & Oates, Def Leppard, Fitz & the Tantrums, Vulfpeck, and Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings for brands like Apple, Google, Ford, and Chevy as well as countless TV shows, films, and trailers. In addition to synch clearance, Russell pitches Defend Music's catalog for all synchronization opportunities, places the company's writers in co-writing/artist sessions, and independently manages a developing writer/producer. His other passions include live music, meeting new people, officiating high school and college football, maintaining a food Instagram account, and enjoying the outdoors.
