James Dean Hicks

A Kentucky native, James is an NSAI Vice-President and serves on the Legislative and Membership Committees.  In addition to serving as a faculty member for NSAI’s Song Camps and as an Adopt-A-Shop participant, James is very active in NSAI’s Washington, D.C., efforts and was instrumental in the passage of the “Songwriters Capital Gains Tax Equity Act.”  His songwriting credits include “Goodbye Time” by Blake Shelton and Conway Twitty, as well as Randy Travis’ “The Hole,” Sammy Kershaw’s “National Working Woman’s Holiday,” Confederate Railroad’s “Jesus And Mama,” Asleep At The Wheel’s “Keepin’ Me Up Nights,” and The Oak Ridge Boys’ “It Takes A Little Rain.”
