Meetings consist of reviewing a lesson on the craft of songwriting or a music business related subject. We then host a feedback session where participants share a song with the group. Members should bring a song to share and lyric sheets for the group.

It’s the JUNE meeting again to inspire songwriters to out-do Jason Blume and creatively create a tune. 

This month's Kansas City Chapter meeting will be at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 6422 Santa Fe Drive in Overland Park, KS (3 blocks south of Shawnee Mission Parkway and 4 blocks west of Metcalf).

The meeting will take place Saturday, JUNE 8th, and will start at 9:00 am and finish PROMPTLY at 12.00.

SONG EVAL REMINDER!!!

If you will be submitting a song for peer evaluation and you haven't already done so, you need to email nsaikc@gmail.com by midnight, Monday JUNE 3rd, and we'll send you the NSAI link to submit your song.  THEN, you have until midnight Wednesday, JUNE 5th, to sign off on it and submit all of your info, lyrics and mp3 song file AT THE LINK LOCATION

If you will be submitting a song for peer evaluation, please bring 12 to 15 copies of your lyric sheets.  You can either play your song live, bring a recording (CD or thumb drive), or play from your own device.

Nashville, Tennessee (July 24, 2024) – The Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI), alongside presenting partner City National Bank, is proud to reveal the first round of stellar performers set to take the Ryman stage on September 24, 2024 at the 7th annual Nashville Songwriter Awards! Initial artists confirmed to appear include MACKENZIE CARPENTER, ASHLEY COOKE, JAMEY JOHNSON, AMANDA SHIRES, NATE SMITH, JOSH TURNER, and LEE ANN WOMACK, and an impressive list of songwriters are also ready to celebrate including KURT ALLISON, RYAN BEAVER, JARED KEIM, TULLY KENNEDY, KELLEY LOVELACE, RANDY MONTANA, PATRICK MURPHY, AUSTIN NIVAREL, JOE RAGOSTA, ROB RAGOSTA, NEIL THRASHER and DAVE TURNBULL!

 

More appearances will be revealed soon, and tickets will be available for purchase at Ryman.com beginning at 10:00am Central on Friday, July 26, 2024.

 

As previously announced, the evening will also include special segments for honorees, Alan Jackson (Kris Kristofferson Lifetime Achievement Award) and Buddy Cannon (NSAI President’s Keystone Award), and it will also include a new award presentation for the ‘Legendary Song’ award, chosen by NSAI’s professional songwriting members, as the ‘Legendary Song’ of its time, with this year’s eligible criteria being songs from 1967-1983. The NSAI board of directors carefully selected 10 impactful songs in the given range, and the pro membership anonymously voted to determine the winning song. The first-ever Legendary Song Award recipient will be revealed and performed at the show.

 

 

 

The 7th annual awards is presented for the 6th year in a row by City National Bank and has several incredible event partners supporting the evening of performances. Official partners include: Loeb & Loeb LLP, Renaissance Nashville Hotel, The Recording Industry Association of America, Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp, Musicnotes, Recording Academy Songwriters & Composers Wing, SoundExchange, Tennessee Association of Broadcasters, and The Mechanical Licensing Collective.

 

Full list of awards to be presented include the ‘Songwriter’ and ‘Songwriter-Artist of the Year,’  the peer-voted ‘Song of the Year’ and ’10 Songs I Wish I’d Written’ awards, the ‘Legendary Song’ award, and the Kris Kristofferson Lifetime Achievement and NSAI President’s Keystone Awards.
