On Guest Speaker Nights, NSAI host guests ranging from songwriters to other music industry professionals to speak. This is a casual, laid-back hour where the guest will talk about their journey in the music industry and allow members to ask questions. These last 50 minutes and will broadcast live at 5:45pm CT.
*Workshops will be archived in our video library 2 weeks after broadcast.

Pitch Night is our busiest workshop each month. Members are able to pitch one original song directly to a music industry professional on Music Row. These events are “pass” or “take a copy” sessions and publishers are not required to give feedback (although many of them will). We only play a VERSE and a CHORUS of each song unless the publisher asks to hear more. We limit our pitch nights to 50 members.

WHAT IS SONG FEEDBACK NIGHT?
Song Feedback Night is one of our most popular workshops and it happens once a month. Our guest is usually a songwriter or music industry professional who will listen to a VERSE AND A CHORUS of a song and give feedback to the writer. These are not pitch sessions. We limit our song feedback nights to 30 members.

The two hour performance-filled ceremony will be an evening dedicated to the brilliant minds behind the hit songs we love, as well as those that contribute to the success of the songwriting profession. The ‘Songwriter’ and ‘Songwriter-Artist of the Year’ will be revealed, and the peer-voted ‘Song of the Year’ and ’10 Songs I Wish I’d Written’ awards, one of the most cherished honors in the songwriting industry, will be celebrated.

As previously announced, the evening will also include special segments for honorees, BOBBY BRADDOCK (Kris Kristofferson Lifetime Achievement Award), TIM MCGRAW (NSAI President’s Keystone Award), and DAVID ISRAELITE (NSAI Advocacy Award), who will each be celebrated by the organization. Presenting partner City National Bank returns for the fifth year in a row, continuing their unwavering support of NSAI and the songwriting community.

“City National Bank has a long history of supporting the music industry, especially songwriters,” said Lori Badgett and Diane Pearson, heads of Entertainment Banking for City National in Nashville, in a joint statement. “We are proud to support the Nashville Songwriter Awards again this year and to celebrate the talent and contributions of these amazing songwriters who mean so much to our industry.”

The Nashville Songwriter Awards are revered as the some of the most coveted in the industry, as the ’10 Song I Wish I’d Written’ and ‘Song of the Year’ are solely determined by the recipients’ peers, and the Songwriter and Songwriter-Artist of the Year awards are given to the Nashville-based Songwriter and Songwriter-Artist that had the highest chart activity during the eligible period. The event is produced each year by the Nashville Songwriters Association International, the world’s largest not-for-profit songwriters trade organization dedicated to protecting the rights of and serving aspiring and professional songwriters in all genres of music.
