BRING THE SLEDGE HAMMER TO WRITERS BLOCK with exercises to work through the inertia.

Award winning Songwriter and NSAI Philadelphia Chapter co coordinator, Liz Miller , is by day a professional nurse .
She knows all too well the cost of the obstacles life throws at us, to the point of shutting down creativity while thwarting our best laid plans and passions.

As an experienced medical professional, she'll show us simple body movements that help open neurological pathways from left to right brain (task oriented to creative) stimulating the creative thought process. These exercises are used in holistic medical wellness and treatment.

PLUS... You'll leave with creative songwriting tips and exercises to sledge hammer through writers block!

Hope you can join us at this iconic Philly area venue for a fun evening of performance, networking, and celebrating the holiday season! Bring your original Holiday Songs, and if you don't have one, no worries, you can still perform at this open mic event.
You can bring guests along to enjoy the evening. PLEASE BRING A SNACK or potluck dish to share. Beverages will be purchased at the venue. We'll have a food table set up in a room off the performance area. Sign up for performance is upon arrival. RSVPS appreciated.

TOPIC: SYNC LICENSING -- Getting music placed in film, TV, and other media projects

Having songs licensed for use in film, TV, commercials, trailers, video games, and other media projects, known as “sync” (short for “synchronization) or “music licensing" is a growing source of revenue songwriters.

Co-Coordinator Liz Miller, who has had success in having song placements, will lead the discussion on what it entails to get your songs to the decision makers who make the placements. You should come away with basic knowledge and also ideas and inspiration, for what it takes to pursue sync placement.

Following our discussion, we'll have a song feedback/evaluation session.

Just a reminder that we are meeting in person on Thursday, July 21, starting at 7 PM. This is our first live meeting since Februrary 2020, so we hope to regroup, talk about opportunities our chapter can create for performances and educational workshops with industry pros!
